If gas is smelt or a leak is suspected
- Do not smoke, light flames, operate electrical switches or use anything that could create a spark.
- Move people away from the immediate area and ventilate naturally only if this can be done without operating electrical equipment.
- If it is safe and you already know how, close the cylinder or supply valve. Do not place yourself at risk.
- From a safe location, contact emergency services and your LPG supplier or a registered gas practitioner.
- Do not use the installation again until it has been assessed and declared safe.
If there is a fire or immediate danger
Evacuate, warn others and call the local fire and emergency services from a safe position. Do not attempt to extinguish a cylinder fire or move a heated cylinder unless directed by trained emergency personnel.
